One of the things that I “preach” at the Enchanted Hearth is to be unapologetically YOU, to let your “freak flag” fly! But “walking my talk” is not always easy or even second nature to me yet.
My youngest daughter started band camp this week.
For a number of years, she has been following in DH and my footsteps as “bandos”.
She even played my flute, the one my parents bought for me “back in the day”, for the past four years.
This year, though, she’s continued to walk in my footsteps by switching to color guard. …
For the past few mornings, I have written a post on my electronic journal on Dreamwidth which I title “Introspection and Inspiration”. An exchange I had in one of my online spaces reminded me of something I shared on DW the other day, and I thought I would share it with you as well.
It’s centered around an entry (July 7th) from The Golden Present by Sri Swami Satchidananda…
If everything comes from outside — money, friends, family, name, fame — were going to make you happy, there wouldn’t be any need for churches, synagogues, spiritual centers or religions. Nobody…
It was an interesting day yesterday.
I had a couple of meetings with colleagues and mentors, and in many instances, our conversations went to the topic of “going deeper”. That is, wanting to make more connections and go deeper with them.
Social media allows us to connect with SO MANY souls, but…
I want to say that it doesn’t “allow” us to connect on a deeper level, but I know that’s not true. We could, if we chose to, but it doesn’t feel as though it is conducive to achieving a deeper connection.
There are so many other things to…
Do you ever struggle to do those things you know you “need to do” for yourself? Those things that are in your best interest?
Sometimes, it’s like struggling with a child who doesn’t want to eat cooked carrots or clean their room.
For instance, I know I need to move my body more.
Given that I spend a great deal of time working on the computer, I don’t move around as much as I know I “should”. Still… the idea of “exercising” leaves me cold and unmotivated.
I even have a treadmill in my office. How convenient! And when I…
A lot of times when we are faced with challenges in our lives, whether by difficult situations or difficult people, we look outside of ourselves for “the Answer”. That one thing that will make it all go away.
The truth of the matter is… the magic component that we’re looking for is not outside of ourselves.
It does not rest in changing situations or people. It doesn’t even rest in the Angels, Faeries, or God/Spirit/the Universe.
Of course, these celestial beings can be of assistance to us, but more times than not, the assistance they lend us is in helping…
A lot of changes have been occurring as of late. Things are going well, yes — personally and professionally, but my Heart, my focus is changing.
I started blogging many years ago and have been doing so on and off for a decade now. Most recently, I’ve done it as part of my Spiritual-Focused business. But lately, I’ve been missing the creative aspects of blogging. I’ve missed just letting my hair down and being myself. I’ve missed really engaging with members of the community.
It is my desire to get back to that.
The Enchanted Hearth is all about learning…
From this morning’s card draw. (Tosha Silver’s Divine Abundance deck)
Life does not always go according to plan. Nor does it look like Ego believes it “should” look like. BUT the Universe/God/Spirit is always moving us toward our Soul’s big picture for this lifetime. It is ALWAYS working for our Highest and BEST good. EVEN when it feels as though our world is crashing down around our ears.
One of the biggest lessons to be learned in the course of our life is… faith. Acceptance is part of this lesson.
We do not have to like what is happening. But…
The Universe is always working for us, and if we’re putting our all into something and it just doesn’t seem to be working in the way we envision, it may mean that we haven’t quite aligned with the vision held for us.
When we align with the Universe’s vision for us, doors we did not even know existed will effortlessly and easily open to us (more about my own experience with this coming up).
Does this mean that we don’t have to work for what we want? Not at all. But when we are on the “right path” for us…
Have you ever been convinced by others — whether in your life or business — that there are ways that “things need to be done”?
A couple of years ago, when I first started my spiritual business, I had fun with it!
I set out to teach people how to get in touch with their Inner Child and get creative. Get JOYFUL and have FUN!
I adopted the moniker “the JOYologist”!
Over time, though, Ego convinced me that wasn’t a formula for “success”. I wouldn’t achieve my goals.
“People just don’t have time or money for such frivolity“.
Have you ever noticed that — more times than not — it’s easier to show up for others than for ourSelves?
Take, for instance, you have a friend or a loved one that is experiencing a health issue or a challenge in their life.
What do you do?
If you’re like most people, you jump right in, without hesitation.
“What can I do to help?”
“How may I lighten your burden?”
However, if the person that we’re speaking of you… Does the response change?
Many of us will often “buckle down”, “push through”, fight against the situation and pretend that…
